Neuroqueer Meetings

There aren’t many meetings for neurodivergent and queer folks in my immediate area. So I decided to create my own.

This event is specifically for people who are neurodivergent or queer. Allies are welcome, however, if they can behave.

Where?

At a park or a restaurant in Hyattsville, MD.

When the weather permits it, this is going to be a picnic in a park. You’re responsible for your own food and drinks. There is ample free parking at the park.

When the weather does not permit it, we’re going to a restaurant. There is a lot of parking around and behind this location. If you come by Metro, you’re going to have to take a bus to get there.

When?

The fourth Sunday of each month. We meet at noon. I will decide the night before the meeting whether it is going to be held at the park or the restaurant.

Please, please, pretty please. Ask to join our Signal group. Why am I asking this?

  • I need a head count as accurate as possible to get the space we need for the number of people who are going to show up.
  • I need to be able to contact you if something happens and we have to cancel.

In order to be able to communicate with you, I need to add you to the Signal group I created to communicate with participants.

  • If you leave a comment using the comment form: you need to give me an email address to send you the link to our signal group. Your message will be visible to everyone, but your email address won’t.
  • Alternatively, you can hunt me down at my generic fediverse handle (@yourautisticlife@mast.yourautisticlife.com) and send me a DM there, and I’ll reply with a DM to your message.
  • This server is also a fediverse instance, so you can leave a comment by replying in the fediverse: I cannot recommend using this method right now, as I don’t think I can DM someone from WordPress. Please use another method.

In all cases, I need to approve your joining the group. You’ll need to tell me your Signal handle, or it should be evident from the handle you use to contact me.
